We believe in total fleet solutions
At Mastex Software we don’t think in products but in solutions. This is why, next to our variety of modules to manage your fleet, we also provide additional services, such as setting up a maintenance database, but also network management and managed security control. With our tools we can keep an eye on how full your disk space currently is, if your Windows version is sufficiently updated, what the status is of your backups (such as the MXSuite database backup), and of course, keep malware and viruses to stay away. This allows us to monitor our customers’ security remotely and make timely adjustments if necessary. Also we make sure all your digital operations keep running smoothly.
Reederei TS-Shipping’s Alexander B
Just last week, I visited the Alexander B, an impressive 154m container ship sailing under the flag of Antigua Barbuda, from Reederei TS-Shipping in Germany. The vessel has been sailing with MXSuite since 2019, with the selection of our modules for Planned Maintenance System, Parts Management (Inventory) and Purchasing, Certificates and Documents for QHSE and reporting. With Alexander B, we installed MXSuite locally on the bridge, but the crew had been experiencing some difficulties with their internet connections onboard. This resulted in problems managing their fleet properly, as they were unable to launch MXSuite in the engine room. This was of course very frustrating for the crew, so the question came via support if we might know someone who could take a look. No problemo! I decided to have a look into it myself.
With my nose in the air…
As I went onboard I spoke to some crew members to have a clearer view on the problem, as to what might be the solution. After tinkering for a bit with the network, MXSuite was up and running again! Impressed by the quick fix, the crew members loosened up and started asking me other questions and problems, because also a satellite phone happened to be not working properly anymore. I had a look into this as well and this turned out to be a network problem too. At first I didn’t think too much of it, as we fix these things on a regular basis, but feeling relieved with the solution the crew member told me that apparently, several companies had already looked into the network problems, but hadn’t been able to solve them. So, as you can understand, I left the ship with my nose in the air. (Just kidding, I’m way too modest for that)
Network management on board: another happy customer
Reporting back to the shipping company, TS-Shipping was very satisfied as well and asked us to provide more IT network services to the ship. The moral of the story: another happy customer and we’ll provide an additional service, the network management on board.
