In the spring of 2021 we received an invitation to give a training to the Spanish crew from the CFL Hunter. This Fishing vessel is owned and managed from the Falkland Islands. The vessel was build near Vigo, Spain. The crew officials and engineers are native Spanyards. The training therefore needed to be in Spanish, so it would have the biggest impact.
Background
In 2016 Consolidated Fisheries acquired MXSuite. This was during the build of their brand new vessel “CFL Hunter”.
When they started they received basic training and consultancy with the know-how they had at the time. But now after so many years they want to get everything out of MXSuite, so it is time for an update.
At the time they started to fill the system manually. This is a very time-consuming work, but will definately give the best results.
Training dates and location
25th & 26th of May 2021
Challenges
We encountered some challenges because English was used to fill MXSuite, but the engineers are Spanish.
Another thing we discovered is the unawareness of all the posibilities MXSuite offers.
Training content
Due to mentioned above we started the training session on Tuesday morning with a general introduction of MXSuite. Then we continued to dive into the details, module per module.
Together we were able to learn how to link spare parts to maintenance tasks. We were also able to remove duplicates and learn a lot of features.
We were able to leave a lot of recommendations and improvements. Like how to link the required spare parts with their maintenance jobs. Another thing we taught were how to use the load MXSuite loadsheet to update the Inventory. Now the crew is able to leave their Excel sheets completely.
¡Hasta pronto!
After a few good days it was already time to depart and say good bye. Though, we didn’t say good bye, but see you soon. We agreed that Mastex will continue to help improving the database of the CFL Hunter. So we’ll see each other soon.
